Welcome
|
| You
are visiting the home of
a unique
farm-to-fork food
retailer, and
possibly the only
example – in the world
– which slaughters,
prepares and sells
locally sourced meat via
its
on-site abattoir, food hall,
and
fully licensed
cafe bar and restaurant. |
Friendly and knowledgeable staff
combine with a modern and
spacious shop interior to help
give customers a unique shopping
experience. A large meat
counter provides a huge
range of freshly made sausages,
bacon and pork, chicken, lamb,
and beef. The shop also has a delicatessen
which offers a wide range of
local cheeses, salads, pies,
breads, and cakes. You can even
have a delicious sandwich made -
on freshly baked bread - while
you wait. Or, you can order a
piping hot soup-of-the-day to
take away.
On the same site you will find 1817
- a fully licensed cafe
bar and
restaurant
which serves fine quality
foods together with a selection
of beers, ciders, and
award-winning English and
Scottish wines
All our beef and lamb is
slaughtered in our own EC
approved, on-site abattoir.
Also, we run - on a voluntary
basis - the Small Abattoir
Federation (SAFe)
which provides support and
guidance for other businesses
that operate their own
low-throughput abattoirs.
We are always on the look out
for talented and enthusiastic
people to join our existing
team. If you think you've got
what it takes, check our jobs
section to see the latest
opportunities on offer.
Why not come and visit
us - you will not be
disappointed. We will be pleased
to see you!

CAR
PARKING - IMPORTANT INFORMATION
|
We have listened to our customers' comments regarding our
private car
parking facilities.
In the past, many of our customers had been unable to find parking spaces - especially on Fridays and Saturdays -
and had no alternative but to drive away without shopping with us. This was due mainly to individuals who
had parked their vehicles to go and shop
elsewhere in the village.
So, back in March 2005, we decided to begin monitoring our car park to
ensure that spaces were always available for our customers.
Today, we employ two car park assistants - Ronnie and
Tom. These two gentlemen - both grandparents - patrol our car parks all day, every day, and are
always ready to warmly greet customers and help them with any enquiries.
For more information, please click here.
If you wish to make any comments about car parking in Standish (i.e. the lack
of), please click

National
Butchers' Week (4th
March 2008)
|
National
Butchers' Week ,
which runs from Monday 10th March - Sunday 16th March 2008, will aim to
raise awareness of local butchers.
Please consider your local butcher, instead of the supermarkets, as your first port of call for all
your meat purchases.
Why? Well, your butcher will have in-depth knowledge on everything from cooking times, to cuts and menu suggestions.
Also, your butcher will be able to tell you exactly where your meat comes from
- unlike the supermarkets.

"Our
family has been serving your family for
the last 250 years."
[John Chadwick, Managing Director]
Since 1761,
the Chadwick
family have lived and worked within 200
yards of the present High Street site.
Throughout these years, we have served
the community as both farmers and butchers.
Our common aim has always been to bring
the best, local
produce to our customers,
drawing on the enormous amount of
expertise gained in the past and the
continual learning process of the
present.
It is with a great amount of pride
that we provide meat for the community
in which we grew up.
All our beef
and lamb
is procured from local farms and
prepared in our own private EC approved abattoir.
All our pork is secured from a local slaughterhouse.
We do not, and will not, sell or use imported cheap
chicken. Only the best is good enough for our customers. Our chicken supplier has been working alongside us for the past 30 years.
This enables us
to bring the best produce directly to you,
served by staff who are dedicated to
providing the friendliest
and most efficient service
possible.

It has come to our attention that a
local restaurant - completely bereft of
ideas - has copied our menus.
Indeed, it appears to offer an almost
exact duplicate of our Daytime
Menu.
Our advice is simple: ACCEPT
NO IMITATIONS.
Unlike this restaurant, we don't
purchase our desserts and beverages from
the local convenience shop while you
dine ;)
Also, we use only locally sourced
produce, and - of course - we can tell
you exactly where your meat has come
from.
