Employers say there is a skills shortage and that it's damaging industry big and small. Perhaps they're not looking closely enough at the full benefits of apprenticeships.

Hi,
Just to play devils advocate a little, Twisted Evil

working for you guys is bloody hard work, I learned some valuable lessons while working in your employ, the main one being i NEVER want to work in that industry again. Wink

Remember being in Wigan market??? How many of the traders who started there have been as successful as you guys? How many of them are still in the business at all???

When looking at an apprenticeship most people look at the long term rewards they can hope to achieve, after all they are investing a couple of years into this, almost a lifetime for someone under 25. Rolling Eyes

Seeing butchers shops close down, hearing constantly how the industry is losing out to supermarkets why would a young person choose a career in butchery when they can stay at college or take a business degree and get to become supermarket managers..... and work less hard????

but there you go, answer these comments and sell it to us... pretend it's a shoulder of lamb on a Saturday afternoon... KNUCKLE END!!!! Laughing

regards
tissh
