BBC
One - Casualty (26th
February 2007)
|
If you happened to watch BBC
One's Casualty
on Saturday evening (24th February), you may recall that one of the sub-plots
involved an accident in an abattoir.
You may be interested to learn that John Chadwick himself advised BBC
researchers (as to what could go wrong in an abattoir) prior to the episode being
made.

BBC
Three - "Kill It, Cook It,
Eat It" Trailers (23rd
February 2007)
|
You may have noticed that BBC Three has
started to show trailers for a new series of factual food programmes called Kill
It, Cook It, Eat It .
According to BBC Three...
"Each programme follows the life and death of one animal as it makes the journey from farm to fork. Filmed at a small working abattoir, an invited group of interested people witness the slaughter of a different species each night.
Once the carcass has been prepared, a butcher breaks it down and explains the different cuts of meat, while a chef demonstrates what to do with them. Once the meal is ready, the audience is invited to taste the meat. But now that they've seen the entire process, how will they
feel?"
Originally, BBC Three expressed an interest in filming at our abattoir. Unfortunately,
the abattoir couldn't be converted to allow the invited audience to view the slaughtering
process and to sit and eat their meals afterwards. So, we suggested another butcher, who
now features in the programmes instead.
Kill It, Cook It, Eat It is due to be shown in March, so come back soon
for more news...
